As outdoor educators we believe the most important part of the outdoor experience is the individual and often the most important thing we can teach is unmeasurable.
The majority of our guests visit us because they recognise that the environment of Heatree, combined with its experienced and qualified team, provides a unique experiential learning opportunity. Learning in this unique way enables the development of skills, knowledge, behaviours and self-esteem which help develop our guests in the long term.
Activity sessions need to be booked in advance; please speak to us as soon as possible if you wish to book. Our maximum group size for most activities is 12 people, and must include a group leader or teacher. We will advise you if this ratio is different for certain activities.

Supported by The Institute for Outdoor Learning, NOLA was developed at Heatree and aims to capture and celebrate the learning that takes place during an outdoor experience. Centred around the core values of safety, respect and learning, the award helps participants to develop 18 valuable skills, or learning outcomes, and is the core focus of our activity programmes.
NOLA has a strong theoretical basis and supports the National Curriculum; many of our school groups continue to use NOLA back in their own setting. The award is now being used around the world, and across most of the UK in outdoor centres, schools, youth work venues, National Parks, colleges and many other places.
