We are looking for a committed and cheerful individual who loves serving and working as part of a team to help us deliver fantastic meals to over 3000 young people each year. Experience in kitchen work or catering would be a great advantage, but all training will be provided.
Main Responsibilities
- To assist in all aspects of the preparation, presentation, and service of the food and catering facilities at Heatree Activity Centre.
- To provide a warm and confident welcome to all guests.
- To cheerfully present and serve excellent food to all our guests.
- To follow food regulations as communicated and required by the Food Services Manager and Heatree management.
- To assist in ordering and managing stock.
- To assist in communication with guests at mealtimes and prior to visits, (primarily teachers and group leaders and occasional parents); ensuring that dietary requirements are met.
- To assist with the administration and record keeping for the department.

Ideal candidates will:
- Be able to support the vision and mission of the charity
- Be a positive and hard-working team player, with experience of working as part of a team
- Have some experience of working in customer service
- Have a desire and willingness to work with diverse groups of all ages
- Be self-motivated, with a high level of dependability and a good attention to detail.
- Have a willingness to help in other departments when the need arises due to operational demands.
- Have previous experience of working in a professional catering environment.

- As a Christian charity and centre, prayers and reflections are a part of some staff meetings
- As part of our commitment to safeguarding, the successful applicant will be required to have a DBS check.
- Weekend and evening work will be required.
- We anticipate working with a food supplier who supply a high level of menu and stock support.
- The role is based at Heatree Activity Centre, Manaton, Devon, TQ13 9XE
- Full time permanent (approximately 40 hours per week)
- Salary: from £11.70 per hour (depending on experience)
