Outdoor Education Instructor

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time permanent Outdoor Education Instructor. Working with our friendly and experienced instructor team you will deliver outdoor adventure activity sessions to groups of all ages and abilities. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who ideally have experience in a range of adventurous activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working in all aspects of Outdoor Education at the Centre
  • Ensuring the delivery of exciting and inspiring activity sessions
  • Reporting to and supporting the Outdoor Education Managers
  • Working within a dedicated team in a Christian environment
  • Actively participating in the Christian ministry of the Centre
  • Supporting other areas of the Centre where appropriate
  • Assisting with equipment checks and site maintenance

Person Specification

  • Experienced in delivering outdoor activities
  • Experienced in working with children and young people
  • Ideally hold a qualification in climbing, walking leadership or paddlesport (e.g. CWA, RCI, LOLA, UKCC Level 1 Paddlesport) – desirable not essential
  • As a Christian charity it is an General Occupational Requirement (GOR) of the role that candidates are committed Christians (as permitted in Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010)
  • Strong initiative, reliable and punctual
  • Good leadership and excellent communication skills
  • Have own transport due to rural location
  • Must be aged 18 years or over
  • Positive Christian role model for both guests and staff

Contract: Full-time Permanent. Occasional evening work will be required and weekend hosting (up to four weekends per year; full training will be provided).

Salary: £28,600
